Payal Burnham, MSEd, SLP Reg. CASLPO

Payal is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She attended the State University of New York at Buffalo State where she obtained her Master of Science in Education degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She also has an undergraduate degree in Linguistics and a minor in French.

Payal has extensive experience working with the pre-school, school-aged, and adult populations in a variety of settings including schools, private practices, and hospitals. She has worked with children with a variety of communicative delays and disorders, including ‘late talkers’, articulation/phonological delays, receptive and expressive language impairments, fluency, literacy delays, and social/pragmatic delays. Payal's skills also lie in her work with individuals diagnosed with Autism, Down syndrome, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder. Payal has also serviced clients with aphasia, dysphagia, and traumatic brain injury.  Her specialty lies in accent modification therapy with over 8 years of experience.

 

Payal is an optimistic and dedicated speech-language pathologist who continuously focuses on the individual needs and interests of her clients. Her ability to speak multiple languages (i.e., English, French, Gujarati, and Hindi) enables her to build lasting relationships with her clients and their families. Payal strives to ensure that therapy is current and relevant for all of her clients to help them achieve the highest possible outcome. She performs on the basis that speech therapy should be a productive and enjoyable learning experience for everyone to help her clients achieve communication success!
