What is it?
Happy Talk Song & Sign is a joyful, music and language program designed for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers—alongside the grown-ups who love them. Through music, movement, and simple sign language, families learn practical tools to support early speech and language development in a fun, engaging way.

Hi! I'm Payal. I'm so excited you're here!
I am a speech therapist, author of the Teach to Speech book series, private practice owner, and mother of three, I am passionate about helping families build communication skills through joyful, everyday interactions.
I decided to become a Happy Talk Instructor because I wanted to give back to the young parents in the community who supported me so deeply when I was raising my own children. During some of the more challenging stages of early parenthood, programs like these were truly a lifesaver for me — offering connection, reassurance, and practical tools when I needed them most.
I am so excited to share the joy of song, connection, and communication with you and your little ones. Watching children gain confidence, develop new skills, and connect with the world around them is the heart of what I do.

FAQs
Which program is right for me?
We have two class options at Happy Talk!
Tinies (5-24 months): Lots of music, singing, connection, and joint attention. Explore early routines such as play, bath, meals, and bedtime. Perfect for little ones who are sitting, crawling, exploring, and soaking it all in.
Tots (2-3 years): Big movement, pretend play, music, and early literacy. Engage in turn-taking and early conversation. Explore fun themes such as Under the Sea, Barnyard Bash, and Big Feelings. Perfect for big toddlers who love to move and show off their growing language skills.

How does the Happy Talk program differ from other parent and baby programs in the community?
Happy Talk Song & Sign is an SLP led, music-driven language enrichment program that uses songs and baby signs to teach communication strategies, while other programs in the community may use more of a play-based approach to teach communication skills and may not always be offered by a speech professional.
Is this program covered by insurance?
While it is facilitated by a Speech-Language Pathologist, Happy Talk is a music-driven language enrichment program for parents and their littles, not speech and language therapy. You will get an SLP workshop receipt at the end of the program, but we make no guarantees regarding individual health insurance coverage. We recommend reaching out to your health insurance provider about whether or not it will be covered prior to registering if this is a consideration for you.
